The Sirens of Spring Serenade Us With Sun!

The snow won't be here much longer, with the weathermen calling for temperatures to rise into the mid-50's later this week. Realizing this, we deliberately went out this weekend and played in the snow.... possibly for the last time?

On Saturday Steve took the girls to Stokely Creek, in Canada, to hike up King's Mountain. I had to teach an acrobatics class that morning, so I didn't get to go but they really enjoyed themselves. It took them 2 1/2 hours up and 21/2 on the way down, so it was a LONG hike. Afterwards, Steve took the girls out to eat at Wacky Wings.

On Sunday, after church, we went out and checked on the cabin. The sun was so hot that we spent an hour down on Monocle Lake's beach "sunbathing." Then we drove back into town and grilled some burgers and hotdogs. Later, we gathered up our ski gear and went to Algonquin ski trails to see if they were still usable. They were covered with sticks and debris, and a little sticky, but we skied a loop anyways, and it was tons of fun. Autumn and I stripped down to our t-shirts by the end!

What a weird winter we had this year.....we are sad to see it go, but happy that the sun is here!

We hope you had a chance to enjoy the last bit of snow this weekend.

We spent a lot of time going up and down this hill, seeing who could coast the farthest without using their poles.

Uh-oh! Someone's gonna get a cold butt.
