Our Week-End Book Report

Here is a list of most of the books that our family had a chance to read this week. I plan on posting these lists each week for personal data-keeping reasons, but also to give you a glimpse into our home school life and in hopes that it might help you choose enjoyable books on your next trip to the library. If you ever have a comment or question about one of the books in our week-end lists I would be more than happy to remark on it. I will try to post comments under the books that need them, but otherwise we plan to rate the books on a scale of 1 to 5.  (if the book gets a score of 1 or 2 I'll definitely try to provide an explanation) I will also post under the books the names of the readers/scorers, and a few comments on the type of book we thought it was, whether it had any great academic value etc.

Here is our rating scale: (if it scores a 4 or 5 then we recommend it)

1= we'll never check this book out again.
2= If there was nothing else to read we could suffer through it.
3= Enjoyed it once, but once will probably be enough.
4= We would be happy to check this book out again, and will probably look for it again on the shelves. We would recommend it to a friend.
5= This goes on our list of all-time favorites. We could enjoy it numerous times, and will probably check it out often or already do check it out often. We would recommend or buy it for a friend.

  1. Wow, lots of reading! No "1" ratings? ;) I think I'll check out the book 'Peak' by Roland Smith, looks great from the front cover...I'm reading a book right now about John Muir, as he chronicles his outdoor adventures long ago...he just climbed Mt. Shasta and narrowly escaped death during a terrible snowstorm by warming himself at a volcanic geyser overnight. he froze on top, and was burned underneath all night long! Lot's of fun stories... (5 rating)

  2. What is the title? Kid friendly enough for Autumn to read? She really devours books like that. Peak is actually a good book because I read part of it aloud to Autumn...you would like it.

Thanks for commenting! You're one of the firsts :)

P.S. You should start a blog about all of your adventures. If you did, what would you title it?
    "Getting High With Craig"....

"1000 things I love about California"....

    Just getting you started...
